Battle Youth Shoulder Pad Sizing Guide

Based on Battle Sports’ official measurement guide. These are Battle’s general youth sizing recommendations, not a Defender-specific chart. Prioritize shoulder width, then consider weight and confirm fit.

How to Measure

Have a helper use a flexible tape measure across your back from one acromioclavicular (AC) joint to the other, where the collarbone meets the shoulder. Record the shoulder width in inches; Battle advises rounding up by half an inch if necessary. Check your weight in pounds as a secondary sizing reference. Battle’s article does not provide chest-circumference instructions or chest-size ranges.

Compare your AC-joint shoulder width with the youth ranges above, using weight as a secondary reference. If width and weight suggest different sizes, contact support before ordering.

Battle recommends going smaller between ranges, while noting that heavier players with the same shoulder width may need a larger size. Do not choose a fit that pinches or restricts movement; contact support if these recommendations leave your size unclear.

Check the Fit

Pads should cover the chest, shoulders, collarbone and upper back without gaps. Adjust straps for a snug but comfortable fit. Move and lift your arms: pads should move with your shoulders, allow free arm movement and not slip, pinch or constrict the chest.
